Summer Road Trip: Lake Jubilee, Daylesford

What a spectacular setting for a caravan park, tucked a few kilometres away from touristy Daylesford – a late afternoon walk revealed beautiful foliage (including holly!), two rustic bridges, a cathedral-like avenue of tall deciduous trees, and friendly wild ducks on Lake Jubilee.

Christmas Day Drive: dilapidated Mazda

image

Like most Aussies, a certain amount of driving was involved on Christmas Day, which was the hottest since 1998. This dilapidated old Mazda sedan was spotted on a farm in the Wimmera, south of Horsham, and worth turning back for a quick snap before continuing to our destination.
Shot with Fujifilm X10, no editing done beyond adding a border in Snapseed app. I enjoyed getting this little camera out for Christmas Day snapshots, having used the Panasonic GX7 (itself a fairly small MILC camera) exclusively for a few weeks.

Santa’s Little Helpers: lost hats

image

I overheard tiny voices in the undergrowth at the Coleraine arboretum, complaining about some missing hats and worrying that they’d cop a hiding from Santa for losing them again. So I took a photo to put up a LOST notice for the worried elves.
Just kidding – Santa’s not real.
Bahahahumbug!
