Maryborough: Kaye’s Buildings, 1907

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
It’s easy to forget to look up at the original building facades on a street with plenty of modern shop fronts to look in.

There’s something about shooting in monochrome that really suits old buildings and their gorgeous, weathered details, and shows up their wonderful symmetry. Although I notice that the centre window arch isn’t directly below the apex of the facade!

Bendigo Easter Festival: crowding round the city streets

I’m not a fan of festivals – it’s the crowds, you know, and the noise. But often when you do something spontaneously and don’t let your personal fears get in the way too much, it turns out really well. And of course, the good thing about crowds is that they don’t really notice one more bystander with a camera.
