The Littlest Hobo: my peculiar dog

Walking past his kennel, seeing his sweet little face peeking out like a hobo from a pile of rags, I quietly collected my camera and took his photo while he obliged, in his usual wary manner.

Centre Lake, Douglas: green and grey

The tiny hound and I went for a drive to see the lakes out at Douglas, which are looking lovely now that they are mostly full. We pattered about along the edge of Centre Lake, resisting the urge to dash after a fleeing hare (him) or splash in the shallow water and sink calf-deep in mud (me).

My Good Dog: resigned patience

This little dog has been my loyal companion for the past decade, a fact which surprises me somewhat, since he’s often not particularly companionable! While he loves a walk, or a visit to the farm, or a drive just about anywhere, when not actively engaged he prefers to be in his kennel, or napping in the sun or a warm chair, seldom near me.
He is resigned to his lot in life: to pose for the camera without complaint, almost any time I ask, in return for a peaceful life.
