Trawalla Railway Station: new redgum sleepers

Along the line beside the station were newly laid-out sleepers, ready to be put into position. After seeing so many railway lines become defunct during the past few decades, it’s reassuring to see work being done to maintain and upgrade them.

We Wos ‘Ere: Trawalla railway buildings

After years of passing the almost-ghost-town of Trawalla, between Ballarat and Beaufort, I finally made time to stop and photograph the railway station building. According to Wikipedia, the station was closed in 1981, and the line closed in 1995 following a diversion. The building is visible from the highway.
